Wellington for the 27 hours after the time of issue, is:— Sanation: A westerly wind belt covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Fo r e:ast:— Canterbury and Marlborough.— Moderate to fresh winds, north-east predominating near the coast, northwest inland; fair or cloudy weather, with moderate temperatures; outlook, fair. Nelson. —Moderate northerly to westerly winds; weather fair, except for showers in the west; outlook, mainly fair. West Coast.—Moderate to fresh westerly winds; weather changeable and showery; temperatures cool; outlook, showers. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine but cloudy, with .a light northeast wind. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees. At midnight, the sky was almost clear, and a five-knot westerly wind was blowing. The temperature was 42.5 degrees. The barometer, at 29.35 inches (994 millibars), was rising.
