MR T. G. WELLS ELECTED PRESIDENT (New Zeal ana Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 24. Mr T. G. Wells, a former president, defeated the sitting president (Mr W. D. Southworth) in the annual elections of the Wellington Amalgamated Watersi ders’ Union, and Mr A. Wathey, a former vice-president, defeated the sitting vice-president (Mr A. Stewart). For the presidency, Mr Wells polled 528 votes against 459 for Mr Southworth, and Mr Wathey polled 568 votes against Mr Stewart’s 420. Both the secretary-treasurer (Mr T. A. Bruce) and the walking delegate (Mr E. G. Thomson) were returned unopposed.
