BOYS’ SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Six representative teams will take part in the under 14 soccer tournament to be held in Christchurch next week. Competing teams will be from Mid-Canterbury, Otago. Southland. Buller, Canterbury and South Canterbury, and the trophy at stake is the Ken Johnston Memorial, presented by the Nomads Club in 1954. Canterbury won the trophy in 1954 and Buller in 1955. when Canterbury was runner-up. On the Thursday a match will be played between teams representing North and South of the Rangitata river, and from this match a South Island team will be chosen. It is not possible this year for the team to meet the North Island.
