The Automobile Association (Canterbury) last evening recorded regret at the death of Sir R. Heaton Rhodes. The president (Mr E. C. Championi said the association was honoured that Sir Heaton Rhodes had agreed to Serve so long as patron as well as giving considerable personal service tc motoring. Mr Walter Parker, Sheriff and Registrar of the Supreme Court in Wellington for the last six years, will retire next month after more than 44 years’ service in Courts throughout New Zealand.— (P.A.) Mr R. O. McKay, of Darfield, who graduated in electrical engineering al Canterbury University College in 1953 and who has been in Britain on a post-graduate scholarship for two and a half years with Metro-Vickers at Manchester, will return to Christchurch on Thursday.
