MAIN TRUNK LINE BLOCKED

DERAILMENT DELAYS EXPRESSES (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 21. Eight waggons of a Palmerston North-Auckland goods train were derailed on the main trunk line at Puketutu. just south of Te Kuiti. about 2.30 p.m. today. The waggons, four ol which were empty, toppled across the track, completely blocking the line and dislodging about nine lengths oi rail. The express which left Auckland at 3.30 p.m., and which vas delayed about three hours, took with it a 40- on steair crane to shift the waggons to the side of the track. The express and thi Limited which followed were held al Te Kuiti and Frankton until the line was repaired about midnight.
