MOLYBDENUM ON CLOVERS

The trace element molybdenum has t een shown to have a beneficial effect when applied to clovers, according to results of trials carried out at Invermay Research Station in Otago. Treatments of molybdenum were applied to New Zealand white clover, to subterranean clover, red clover, and Lotus major in the course of trials. Although no marked responses were noted in the first season after the application of molybdenum, good responses were obtained in the second season, from the white clover, the subterranean clover, and the Lotus major plots. Red clover failed to respond until the third season. when good results were obtained from the use of the element.
