A Japanese diver in the Arafura Sea claims to have found the world’s largest pearl. In a letter to his mother in Tokyo, Mr Yuji Hama said the pearl was a 70-carat one. five carat more than the largest reported before. The Japanese pearl fleet's mother ship, the Daiwa Maru. is on its wav to Japan carrying the pearl.—Tokyo. August 16.
