NORTH ISLAND FINAL TODAY AUCKLAND TO PLAY BAY OF PLENTY 'New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 19. Auckland, which has been unbeaten throughout the tournament, and Bay of Plenty-Thames Valley will contest the North Island final of the Russell Grace Cup for women’s interprovincial golf teams at the Manukau course tomorrow. Auckland has reached this stage on three other occasions only to be beaten in the end. Today’s golf was easily the most exciting yet and the providers of it all were the Wellington and Bay of Plenty-Thames Valley players, who battled hard to decide today’s semifinalist.

Wellington won the matches, 5| to 3|, after some particuarly close and thrilling games to record the same number of over-all wins as Bay of Plenty-Tham.es Valley, but they lost on the couritback of all three days’ results by a mere half point. Waikato had a field day against Northland and dropped only one game. The two bottom teams in the lower section. Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay and Wanganui-Manawatu, drew their game with 4£ wins apiece.
