Paul Blanche has put glamour into rainwear in his autumn collection shown in London recently. Highlight of the show was a glorified trench coat in oyster cotton satin with giltedged pearl buttons and a heavy satin lining. Another new trend was the introduction of short raincoats—usually thigh-length—which are extremely smart, but the question must be asked whether smartness makes up for the fact that the legs would have to bear the whole brunt of a rainstorm.
