LANCASTER PARK ARRANGEMENTS For Rugby followers who have not already bought their tickets for the Canterbury match with the Springboks on July 21, the gates at Lancaster Park .will open at 9 a.m. on the Saturday of the match.
Because of the risk of injury to patrons. Improvised seating or standing facilities, such as boxes, will not be allowed in the park. Adults will pay for admission at the turnstiles. Children will buy their tickets at the change windows and surrender them as they pass through the turnstiles. Holders of reserved tickets should detach and retain the reserved seat portion of the tickets, and give to the gatekeeper only the other portion. A new entrance from Talfourd place has been provided for embankment patrons. The Wilsons road entrance ,wiU give admission to ticket holders with seats in Nos. 4 and 5 stands and the southern end of No. 3 stand. Boys who have tickets to the special boys’ enclosure in front of Nos. 4 and 5 stands will be admitted through this entrance only from 12.30 p.m Those who wish to enter through the main gates and have reserved tickets for Nos. 2,3, 4. 5,6 C, 6D, and 6E stands should turn left immediately on entering the main enclosure gates and enter the stands from the rear. Those who are booked for the No. 1,6 A and 6B stands should go straight ahead after entering the main enclosure gate.
XAVIER COLLEGE TO PLAY CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
The Xavier College first fifteen will play the first fifteen of the Christian Brothers’ High School, Dunedin, at Dunedin today. The winning team in this annual fixture is awarded a cup presented for this purpose by the McKendry family of Christchurch.
The cup was originally awarded to the most outstanding forward in Canterbury and was given to the late Mr J. McKendry after he had won it for three years in succession—lB92, 1893, and 1894. At present the cup is held by Xavier College. The Xavier College team is:— Backs: B. Wilson, N. Costello, A. Campbell (vice-captain), J. White, P. White, K. Forman, C. Brady, R. Boland. Forwards: I. Gillespie, G. Wren. N. Entwistle, S. Gibson (captain), J. Fisher, K. Ryan, J. Roche, B. Hooker, P. Peoples.
