- / IMPROVEMENTS TO SHOW GROUNDS Reporting to- a meeting of the general committee of the Ellesmere Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the president (Mr H. J. Hurford) said that much useful work had been done by a working bee of members held at the show grounds recently. This included the preparation of a site for a new produce exhibit building to be erected shortly, the concreting of the floor of an existing building, and the replanting of about 250 poplar trees along the eastern boundary. It was suggested by Messrs A. C. Greenwood and R. T. McMillan that, as a bequest made by the late Mr A. J. Inwood was to be used to pay for the new produce building, an appropriate tablet should be provided in commemoration of Mr Inwood’s service. He had been a member of the association for most of his life and its treasurer for many years. The proposal was agreed to and the president, treasurer (Mr J. H. McMillan) and secretary (Mr J. T. B. Purser) were appointed a sub-committee to attend to the matter. Recommendations made by Mr R. T. McMillan on behalf of the light horse committee for improvements to the loud speaker system, for a telephone system in the judging oval and for the provision of boards in the

oval on which to post the results of the judging were adopted. Mr McMillan’s offer to pay half the cost of the result boards was accepted with thanks.
