PRESENTATION OF CRICKET TROPHIES AT KAIKOURA
The presentation of trophies won by members of the Kaikoura Cricket Club during the 1955-56 season was made at a social evening held in the community centre at Kaikoura on Saturday. The president (Mr F. D. Gibson) thanked Mr and Mrs S. H. McNally for a gift of a challenge cup for the most improved player during the season. Trophies were presented by Mrs W. J. Miller, wife of the patron of the club, as follows: —“Cricketer of the Year” (Miller Cup): W. L. Ferry; most improved player (McNally Cup): Trevor Bragg; best batting average (Club Cup): Cecil Collings; best bowling average (Club Cup): E. J Taylor, junr. Music for dancing was supplied by Messrs E. E. G. Scott and M. Sullivan. Extras were played by Messrs G. E. G. Scott and C. A, W. Scott.
