STRUCK BY FALLING CRANE JIB MAN FATALLY INJURED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Julv 9. A man died in the Wellington Public Hospital tonight after bein? admitted late in the afternoon with injuries suffered when struck by a falling crane jib at Victoria University College. He was: Mr R. F. Bugden, of Newport terrace, Seatoun. Mr Bugden was one of two men injured when struck by the falling jib of a crane working on the new science block at the college. The other, Mr T. Whittaker, of Plunket street, Kelburn, suffered a fractured right arm and shock. NAVAL RATING DIES FROM INJURIES (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 9. Engineering Mechanic. First Class, Russell J. Moore, of Timaru. died today from injuries received from a small piece of machinery in the engine room of H.M.N.Z.S. Lachlan, now berthed at Pago Pago, Eastern Samoa. The rating is to be given a full naval funeral in the Pago Pago naval cemetery. A Naval inquiry is to be held as soon as possible. ARM CRUSHED IN MACHINERY A man whose arm was crushed and fractured when he was caught in machinery at the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company’s factory early this morning, was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 1 a.m. He is Mr Max Buzon. of 41 Grassmere street. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
