IMPROVING THE LINDIS PASS ROAD.—The road leading from Omarama through the Lindis Pass to Lake Wanaka and Queenstown has frequently become impassable in winter. This big earth-moving machine is seen working on a stretch of the road, and during the last eight months it has raised the road level by at least 18 inches. The road improvements are almost completed.
