INDOOR BASKETBALL
CANADIAN TOURNAMENT AT BLENHEIM
The Canterbury men's team won both its matches at the annual Canadian Goodwill Trophy basketball tournament played at Blenheim but the Canterbury women’s team was soundly beaten in both its games.
Although young and somewhat inexperienced. the Canterbury men gave an exhibition that augers well for its chances in the national championships. The women's team, on the other hand, was at a disadvantage because of the greater experience of its opponents. Results were:—
Men.—Canterbury 53. Marlborough 32; Canterbury 42. Nelson 39; Nelson 59. Marlborough 36.
Women —Nelson 62. Canterbury 25; Nelson 34. Marlborough 32; Marlborough 45. I Canterbury 20.
