TRENTHAM TRIP CANCELLED
SEQUEL TO GYPSY BOY’S POOR DISPLAY “The Press” Snecial Service DUNEDIN, July 2. Gypsy Boy’s trip to Trentham was cancelled after his disappointing display in the steeplechase at Washdyke on Saturday. The Tiderace gelding returned to Wingatui, and will be prepared for some of the minor meetings. Nuclear, winner of the Timaru Cup. and Persia have been placed on the easy list pending their leaving for Australia later in the month. Ark Royal, which was recommissioned only a short time ago, will he kept in steady exercise. It is unlikely that All Fair will now accompanv the team. The Fair’s Fair colt was entered for two-year-old races in Australia, but it is more likely that his spring racing will be done in New Zealand. Reformed has joined H. A. Anderton’s team. The Probation gelding has , an engagement in the Kerrytown Hurdles at Timaru on Saturday. Pot Luck, which has had one race in the colours of Mr and Mrs A. J. Brown, of Wingatui. has been sold to Mr J. B. Brown, who recently lost the promising hack Cord. ’ A five-ycar-old gelding by Boissier from Madam Droski. Pot Luck is to enter W. E. Hancock's stable. He showed a lot of promise in his only start to date, the Electric Stakes on the last day of the recent meeting at Wingatui when he ran greenly and covered a lot of extra ground, to finish close up in fourth place.
