Crowning Hazard Facing Career Women Of Future
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON. Julv 2 A doctor suggested today that career women may eventually follow men and go bald. Dr. S. J. van Pelt, writing in th?, British “Journal of Medical Hypnotism.” argued that men were more prone to baldness than women because thev used their brains more. “But the horrid thought arises that with more and more women taking up business careers, baldness will eventually become as common in women as in men,” he said. “Will women
eventually sacrifice curls for careers?” Dr. van Felt a’so posed the question whether men shed their hair instead of tears “Men to bottle up their emotions. Women are more likelv to obtain relief in tears. By keeping a stiff upper lip. the strong, silent man may be reserving for himself a bald upper pate.” He added that Jess pron« to baldness wptje the men who could “let them-seh-es go"—musicians, actors and artists.
