WORLD GUIDES CAMP

18 GIRLS TO GO FROM NEW ZEALAND (Neu Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 1. New Zealand girl guides will be represented by a party of 18 at the world regional camp in the Philippines from January 19 to February 2 next year. Selected from first-class guides aged from 15 to 21 throughout the Dominion, the New Zealand party will train at the Dominion camp near Marton from January 1 to January 10 before leaving by air for Manila. □ne of four world regional camps being held to mark the centenary of Lori Bawen-Powell’s birth, the Philippines camp will be in Quezon City, 10 milet from Manila. Representatives from Australia. Britain, the United Spates, and most South-east Asian countries will attend.

The full itinerary for the New Zealanders is not yet completed. The travelling costs of each member will be £250. A drive to raise funds is being made in Wellington and the Hutt Valley to raise money for the partv of six selected from the Wellington Province.

Included in the partv’s luggage will be Maori costumes. ‘‘We are busy learning to manipulate the poi,” said the leader of the Wellington group. Miss Nanette Raymond.
