'Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON. June 30. The fourth round of the Wimbledon singles ended today satisfactorily for the Australian men players but disappointingly *or the women. There are now four Australian men in the quarter finals of the singles—the first seed, Lew Hoad, the second seed, Ken Rose wall, and Malcolm Andersen and Neale Fraser. The only two Australians to reach the fourth round in the women's singles, however, were easily beaten tOQay. Tney were Mrs JennLer Hoad, who was oeaten by the fifth seed. A ?J? irle Y Fl- y> of th e United States, and Miss Fay Muller, beaten by tne lop seed, Miss Louise Brough, of the united States. lhere was little high standard tennis today among the men. Rosewall had a fairly easy game when he beat the American, Art Larsen, 7-5, 7-5, 6-3. Larsen always looked dangerous but the situation was never critical for the Australian. The early part of the match was full of mistakes, both Rosewall and Larsen finding it difficult to control distance. Larsen was brilliant at times at the net. but Rose wall played a better overall game and he deserved his win. Fraser Beats Howe Neale Fraser was too strong for his fellow Australian. Seixas was able to win his services almost at will by slamming the ball to the South African's backhand, and he won 6-1. 6-1. 8-6. Ham Richardson, of the United States, heat, the South African, Abe Segal, 7-5, in the first set, and then Segal had to withdraw with a strained back. The New Zealanders, P. Becroft and Miss E. Becroft, won their first round mixed doubles match. They beat F. Soehol (Norway) and Miss C. Monnot (France). 9-7, 6-4. In the third round of the women’s .singles Miss P. E.
