SMITHFIELD MEAT MARKET
GOOD DEMAND FOR LAMB Light supplies of frozen lamb met a good demand at Smithfield last week, according to the weekly report from the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. Frozen mutton was firm, with a steady inquiry. Trade in chilled beef was slow, and moderate supplies were sold at lower prices. The lighter supplies of frozen beef were in quiet request, with prices a shade easier. Prices for New Zealand meat (ex store, London, for frozen meat; delivered to Smithfield for chilled beef),in the week ended June 27, with the variation since the previous week, were *as follows:
