Gibson), said the Minister in charge of Civil Aviation (Mr T. P. Shand) -at the annual conference of the Aviation Industry Association at Wellington. “Gibby has been the father of this industry,” Mr Shand said. “The fact that he retires this year fits in with a stage in the industry—it has gone through much of its exciting development and is settling down into a humdrum business proposition.” The aerial topdressing industry was founded on a paper which Mr Gibson published, says the annual report of the association.
