Situation:— Depressions to the south and east of New Zealand are moving slowly eastwards. Forecast:— Canterbury and Coastal Marlborough.—Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds: weather cold and showery. Outlook: showers clearing. Inland Marlborough. Nelson, and the West Coast.—Moderate west or southwest winds predominating; a few showers about the ranges of Buller. Nelson, and Marlborough, but weather mainly fine, though cold. Outlook: fine. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 3.1 degrees, the day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with ■ very light south-west w’ind and a maximum temperature of 53 degrees. At midnight the sky was cloudy, and there was a two-knot wind from the west. The temperature was 37J? degrees. The barometer, al 29.25 inches (990.5 millibars), was rising unsteadily.
