CAR BOUGHT BY r CHEQUE
PURCHASER LATER ARRESTED
A man went to a car dealer’s yard to buy a car about 3 p.m. yesterday After looking round he decided on his choice, a car valued at £485. He gave a cheque for the car and drove away. Shortly after the firm discovered that the cheque was valueless and that the man had given a false name. The police were immediately notified. Not long afterwards Detective E. L.
McLachlan, driving down St. Asaph street, noticed a car pulled up for traffic in St. Asaph street, the appearance of which corresponded with the description of the missing vehicle. Detective McLachlan leaped from hil car, dashed across the road, jumped into the car and arrested the driver. The man will be charged in the Magistrate’s Court this morning.
