THE PRIDE OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY.—The 60,000-ton aircraft-carrier Saratoga, her mast folded on hinges to permit clearance of Brooklyn bridge, New York, moves slowly down East river before starting her sea trials. Claimed by the United States Navy to be the largest ship afloat, the Saratoga is 1039ft long and has a flight deck 252ft wide.
