TOWNLEY APPEAL DISMISSED

The appeal of the Orari trainer, R. W. Townley, against the disqualification for life imposed upon him by the New Zealand Trotting Conference has been dismissed. This decision of the appeal judges, Messrs R. E. Booker, N. K. Aitken, and A. G. Jamieson, was announced last evening. At an inquiry, opened at Addington on February 11 and resumed on March 20, Townley was found guilty on a charge that he committed a corrupt practice by administering a drug or stimulant to the pacer Super Brigade for the purpose of affecting his speed in the Wigram Handicap at Addington on February 11. The appeal judges held three long evening sessions, the last of which was last Friday.
