DRIVERS FINED AT FORBURY PARK

After the Fairfield Handicap at Forbury Park on Saturday, a summary inquiry was held into interference, which was caused by Turf Topic (A. Dawson) to Radar (D. J. Townley). After the evidence of the two drivers had been heard. Dawson was found guilty of careless driving, and fined £lO. J. L. Ferguson, driver of Fiery Cross in the Tahuna Handicap, was fined £2 for failing to bring his horse back to its correct gait.

TOWNLEY APPEAL AGAIN ADJOURNED

The hearing of the appeal by the Orari trainer, R. W. Townley, against the term of life disqualification imposed on him by the New Zealand Trotting Conference after he had been found guilty of a corrupt practice, was continued in Christchurch on Friday evening. After hearing all evidence to be presented at the hearing, the appeal judges adjourned until a date to be announced this week. Judgment is expected towards the end of the week.
