MEMORIAL SERVICE AT HOSPITAL
The progress nursing has made in recent years was referred to in the I sermon preached by the Rev. R. M. • Rogers at the nurses' memorial service held yesterday morning in the chapel of the Christchurch Public ‘ Hospital. Mr Rogers took as his text the parable of the Good Samaritan. . i The service was for all nurses who trained or served at the hospital and ■ for the relatives of those nurses who ; died during active service overseas, or while serving in their profession. About 100 persons attended the service. Canon I. L. Richards conducted the service, and was assisted by the Rev. G. B. Hinton and the Rev.* I. R. Wilson. The chaplain of the Wei- i lington Public Hospital (the Rev. N. I Watkins) also attended the service. ‘
