£5000 FOR CORSO APPEAL
BIG INCREASE ON LAST YEAR A record of £5OOO, an increase of£lBoo on last year, has been collected in the house-to-house appeal by CORSO.’ Even although Redcliffs had been inadvertently missed by the voluntary collectors, the organiser (Mr G. H. Coley) said he wanted to assure residents who had telephoned him that the district would be covered this week. He expected to have final figures for the appeal this week. Mr Coley said Christchurch was responding generously. About 1570 adolescent children were collecting. They were mostly Bible-class members from 81 churches.
