IRISH WINNER RELATED TO CALLANDER

An American-bred filly which won a maiden plate for two-year-old fillies in Ireland on April 7 is related to the Chelandry Stud (Southland) sire, Callander. She is Bonny Busher, a bay by Mr Busher, whose sire, War Admiral (by Man o’ War) is maternal grandsire of the Derby and St. Leger winner, Never Sav Die. Bonny Busher was bred in the United States by Mr Neil McCarthy, and was bought by the Irish trainer, Joseph McGrath, after Christmas. San Bonita, the dam of Bonny Busher. has a completely British pedigree, being by Sansovino from California, by ColoOne of California's two winners by Bosworth was Calgary, the dam of Callander, a son of the famous Nasrullah.
