YACHTING
CHARTERIS BAY CLUB Nine boats started in a handicap race for points for club cups at Charteris Bay on Sunday. The race was sailed over two rounds of the course in a moderate to fresh southerly wind. Results were (race started 2 p.m.):— Tresta-Tu (B. Bowater), 2min, 3.12.21 p.m., 1; Ecstasy (P. Pritchett), 7min, 3.13.48 p.m., 2; Mystic (D. Eastmond), 7min, 3.13.59 p.m., 3; Kismet (F. Mackey), 4min, 3.15.11 p.m., 4; Farlena (D. Fisher), 3min, 3.15.51 p.m., 5. STEWART’S GULLY CLUB The Stewart’s Gully Yacht Club held three races during the week-end. A relay race for the Ledsham Pennant was won by the Blue team. A race for father and son combinations was won by Air Raid (M. Reid) Results:— Fathers’ and Sons’ Race.—Air Raid (M. Reid, 6min), 33min 22sec, 1; Whisher (C. Holland. smin), 36min 23sec, 2; Turay (S. Falkingham, Bmin), 37min 2sec, 3. Women’s Race.—Air Raid (Mrs Reid. 3min), 24min 51sec, 1; Gwenolyn (Mrs Mclntosh. Imin), 27min 3sec, 2: Contrine (Mrs Ktngbam, Imin), 27min 4sec, 3. Relay Race.—Blue Team (Turay, Gwenoline, Air Raid. Whisher, Confound) 1.
