OHOKA FEDERATED FARMERS
50TH ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDATION The Ohoka and Districts branch of Federated Farmers, at the Ohoka Hall this week, celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of its foundation. Among the guests were former officials of the branch, which originally was the Kaiapoi branch of the Farmers’ Union. Mr P. L. Armstrong, president of the branch, welcomed former members. Mr C. Morgan WiPiams. the first secretary of the branch in 1906-07. replied to *he toast of former officials. Mr D. H. Butcher. North Canterbury nrovincial president of Federated Farmers, replied to the toast of Federated Farmers. Former members who snoke during the evenin'? were Messrs Morgan Williams. H. E. Evans. A. M. Carpenter, G. H. Hassall, and D. W. Ross. Former presidents who also spoke were Messrs R. R. Bennett. W. F. Ashe, W. Sanders. M. Harman. J. W. Rainey, and R. C. Kimber. Members praised the work of the original members and officials of the branch, and a short address was given bv Mr A. E. G. Lyttle, secretary of the North Canterbury province of Federated Farmers.
