AWARD FOR STOCK AGENTS’ CLERKS
WAGE INCREASES OF 5 PER CENT.
Increases of 5 per cent, in minimum salaries for both male and female v'orJ-ers are provided under a new award for stock and station agents’ clerical workers. Tb° award covers the Dominion excent Westland, and took effect from March 20. The wage for first-yoar male clerks is increased from £20.9 to £2lO a year, increasing to the fourteenth year at £646—an increase of £3l. A fifteenth and a sixteenth year have been added to the scale at £662 and £677 respectively. » Female clerks’ wages are increased from £205, an increase of £lO, to £425, an increase of £2O, in the ninth year. A tenth year at £440 has been added. The new scale is subject to the 13 per cent. Arbitration Court increase. Payment of wages will be made fortnightly instead of twice monthly, as in the past, unless otherwise agreed between employer and worker. Alterations have been made to board allowances, ranging from £9O for the fi.rst or second year of service, down to £3O for the fifth year of service.
An allowance of £l3 a year will be paid to those who are employed substantially as stock clerks in stock departments and whose attendance is required at stock sales.
