HEAVY SEAS DELAY HINEMOA

LATE ARRIVAL AT LYTTELTON The inter-island steamer Hinemoa did not arrive at the moles at Lyttelton until 8 a.m. yesterday, about an hour and 20 minutes after her usual time of arrival. A strong south-west wind and heavy seas slowed the vessel on the early part of the trip, and she did not resume normal speed until after passing Kaikoura Peninsula. The Hinemoa arrived at the heads at Lyttelton half an hour late, and was held up in the harbour until the Shaw Savill liner Tamaroa berthed. The express for Invercargill was delayed at Christchurch for 57 minutes to enable passengers for the south to catch it.
