CREW’S QUARTERS IN PATEKE

ALTERATIONS TO BE MADE Richardson and Company, of Napier, the owners of the motor-vessel Pateke. have decided to carry out alterations to the crew's quarters asked far by representatives of the Seamen’s Union at the recent inquiry into the fire in the vessel. Additional egress from the quarters will be provided after reallocating the officers’ cabins. The cabin now occupied by the chief engineer will be reduced in size, and the chief engineer will occupy another cabin. It is expected that, when the alterations are made, there will be no further difficulty in securing a crew for the ship, which has been without a crew since the fire damage was repaired six weeks ago.
