DEVELOPMENT AT THE GROYNES

The Waimairi County Council hopes to take a lease of about five acres from the North Canterbury Catchment Board at the Groynes. The board has declined to contribute to the cost of providing sanitary conveniences there and has suggested to the council that it take a lease there at a peppercorn rental and take full control of the area.

The council recommended at its meeting that its finance com-, mittee accept the offer of the lease, and that the county engineer prepare a report on development in the area, including the provision of conveniences and another road access.
