MECHANISATION OF BANK BRANCHES

Every branch of the Australia and New Zealand Bank in New' Zealand is now mechanised, the bank’s chief manager for New Zealand (Mr C. P. Edwards) said last week. He believed New Zealand was the first country in the world to have a nation-wide banking service 100 per cent, mechanised. Customers of every branch of the bank in New Zealand will now obtain a machine-printed statement of account immediately on request. Mr Edwards said the development marked an important step forward in the Dominion’s banking services. This and other features of the bank’s service in New Zealand gave the nation one of the most advanced banking services in the world, 1 he added.
