NELSON COLLEGE OLD BOYS
COCKTAIL PARTY ' The Christchurch branch of the ' Nelson College Old Boys’ Association 1 held a cocktail party early last even- ! ing as a part of the college’s centennial ’ celebrations which will be held in : Nelson from April 4 to April 8. They : were assisted by members of the Christchurch branch of the Nelson Col- ■ lege Old Girls’ Association in enter- ' taining more than 100 guests, including representatives of kindred associa- • tions. At the celebrations which was the > main topic of conversation at the party it is expected that more than 1000 former pupils will be present. This ' represents more than one-sixth of the ' present living old boys, Guests were received by the presi- i dent of the Christchurch branch of the Old Boys’ Association, Mr G. W. A. Green, and Mrs Green, and by the ’ president of the Christchurch branch ' of the Old Girls* Association. Mrs P. 1 M. Mac Shane and Mr Mac Shane. who : is a past president of the Christchurch 1 branch. Guests of honour included Mrs A H Rothenberg, patron of the Christchurch I branch of the Old Girls’ Association, and its first president, and representatives of the old girls’ associations of St. Margaret’s College, Rangi-ruru, Avonside, St. Mary’s, Christchurch Girls’ High School. Christ’s College, Wanganui Collegiate School, Wellington College, St. Bede’s College, Christchurch Boys’ High School, Waitaki Boys’ High School, and St. Andrew’s College, —■ Mrs Green’s frock of sage green grosgrain was worn with a close-fitting hat of black velvet embroidered in small jet beads and softened with a fine black veil. An A-line frock of stone moire taffeta was worn by Mrs Mac Shane. Her hat of a matching shade was trimmed with veiling flecked with gold.
