WALLET PICKED UP ON STREET
MONEY TAKEN BY YOUTH
Richard lan Rosewarne. aged 18. pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday to stealing £8 10s the property of Angus Robertson'. Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M., adjourned the case to March 22 for sentence, pendin" a report by the Probation Officer.
“At 12.45 p.m. on February 21 this young man picked up a wallet from the footpath in Cathedral square.” said Sub-Inspector C. H. Reardon. “He took it to the lane that runs between the bus depot and Hereford street, where he took out the money and hid the wallet under a sack. Unfortunately for him. three young men saw him from an upstairs window. They followed him and pointed him out to a constable. Rosewarne had the money in his possession, and admitted that he had intended to keep it. The wallet belonged to an old-age pensioner and contained papers showing his name and address."
