N.S.W. Miners’ Protest To Government
(Rec. 8 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 9. More than 1000 Newcastle coal miners will go to Canberra on March 21 to demonstrate against the closing of some mines in northern New South Wales. The federation’s general president (Mr W. Parkinson) said that the demonstration would be orderly. "We are not going to pull Canberra down or establish a revolution,” he said. “We are simply going to ask the Prime Minister to support the coal industry.”
