OHINEMURI CLUB “The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. March 9. The Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s autumn meeting will be opened at Paeroa tomorrow. The first leg of the double will be the Ohinemuri Cup, run over a distance of about one mile and a half. The very good seven-year-old Mt. Denby has dominated discussions on the race, and he is likely to be favourite. There was a field of nine for the Ohinemuri Cup when the acceptances were taken last Monday, ».nd it is very likely that the full number will go to the post. Mt. Denby is at the top of the handicap with 9-10. Other notable runners are Joy Step (9-5), Llantavia .7-8), and Innes Lass (8-0). The second leg will be the Electric Handicap, of six furlongs. Lord Abel, the top-weight with 8-8. is favourably placed at the start with No. 1, and is expected to win. His hardest opponents may be Heir Apparent, Black Seaman, and Thomastown.
