THE Division is conducting research into the mechanisms of behaviour of the atmosphere. The appointee would join a small group working on certain fundamental aspects of dynamic meteorology and the general circulation, and on intensified studies of some local synoptic problems, e.g.. the cold front of S.E. Australia. Within this framework there would be freedom to orient the work according to the appointee’s own experience and ideas. Applicants should have a University Honours degree in meteorology, physics or mathematics, with postgraduate experience of research in synoptic and dynamic meteorology.
