CASHMERE AND HEATHCOTE VALLEY RESIDENTS are advised that voluntary savings of electric power have been insufficient to reduce the Council’s quota to the amount of its allocation, and as from SATURDAY, MARCH 10, 1956, the following restrictions and power cuts will be applied:— WATER HEATERS must NOT be switched on between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily. OUTSIDE LIGHTS must NOT be used without permission from the Council. STREET LIGHTS will be switched off daily at 11.45 p.m. POWER CUTS: Power will be completely CUT OFF on the following days:— SATURDAYS: TWO hours between 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. SUNDAYS: THREE hours, between 1 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. WEEK DAYS: THREE hours, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Consumers are advised that regular inspections win be carried out to ensure that the restrictions on the use of water heaters are being observed; any breach will be reported to the Council for appropriate action. These restrictions will be reviewed from time to time and alterations will be made m accordance with the savings effected by consumers and the water storage position. R. W.
