UNDERWATER CLUB CONSTITUTED
ASSISTANCE IN MARINE RESEARCH The Canterbury Underwater Club was officially constituted at a special general meeting last evening. About 35 members were present. Members of the club have been working together as a group for a considerable time, and provisional office-bearers had been elected. However, until the constitution was approved last evening, the club had no official status. Dr. Roger Duff said he had some forms issued by Mr J. H. Sorensen, a research officer of the Marine Department, Wellington, for use in making a survey of the habits and numbers of crayfish in coastal waters. The forms will be issued to club members, who have been asked to enter on them any relevant, observations made as the result of a dive. That method of research was being used successfully with the aid of Wellington underwater swimmers, said Dr. Duff.
