MAN FATALLY HURT BY EXPLOSION

(New Zealand Press Association) TIMARU. March 8. A trainee at the Balmoral military camp in the Mackenzie Country died in the Timaru Public Hospital yesterday afternoon as a result of severe facial and body burns suffered when a kerosene pressure lamp he was using at the camp exploded. He was Murray Macdonald Sands, a married man, aged 23. of Bluff. The accident occurred on March 6 and Sands was admitted to hospital the same day. He died the following afternoon. The inquest opened yesterday afternoon was adjourned sine die after evidence of identification had been given.
