LYTTELTON’S ROGUE SEA LION, DENNIS THE MENACE, was successfully taken in hand yesterday. After having sunk and smashed several dinghies in the boat harbour, and overturned another while a man was rowing it, the bull seal was deemed to have overstayed his welcome. Captured in a net, he was towed to sea behind the pilot launch, Wairangi. RIGHT: Dennis roars defiance for the last time. LEFT: Mr F. T. Bennington, district Inspector of Fisheries, and assistants make sure that the seal is securely roped into the net.
