N.Z. OLYMPIC GAMES TEAM
MR J. G. BARNES PROPOSED AS MANAGER (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 7. On the casting vote of the chairman (Mr H. I. Austad), the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last night nominated Mr J. G. Barnes, M.P.. for the position of manager of the New Zealand Olympic team to go to Melbodrne this year. His name will go forward to the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association. Mr Barnes beat Mr C. J. Thompson for the nomination. Mrs S. Drummond was nominated as chaperon. Nominations from Auckland were rejected because of their late arrival.
