OTAKI TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA

DECISIVE AND FRANLYLE LEAVE "The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, March 6. The Otaki owner-trainer, Mr G. S. Walton, left in the Monowai today for Sydney with Decisive and Franlyle. Both horses resumted racing at Levin last month after a short spell. In the spring Franlyle won the Gold Trail Stakes at Hastings, and was beaten by a nose and a head in the New Zealand Oaks Stakes at her next start. She ran Shaun to a nose at level weights in the Huia Handicap at Otaki. Decisive, which was a first-class hack last season, when his wins included the Douro Handicap at Trentham, won the Visitors’ Handicap, of six furlongs, at Hastings, and the McMillan Memorial Handicap, ol one mile and a quarter, at Otaki this season. His placings include third in the Manawatu Cup, second in the Hastings Gold Cup, and third in the Hawke’s Bay President's Handicap. Also travelling in the Monowai is the four-year-old Ripon, which was sold in January to Mr E. Norton, of Sydney. Ripon has not raced since Rheingold beat him in the Kaitoke Hack Handicap at Trentham in January. Ripon was formerly trained by D. P. Wilson, but since his sale he has been in R. Bromby’s stable at Trentham, where his work has been restricted to light exercise.
