Water Fluoridation

The Auckland City Council has decided to ask the Director-Gen-eral of Health (Dr. J. Cairney) to set up a committee to study fluoridation of Auckland water supplies. The committee would report whether Auckland should introduce fluoridation into all or part of its water supply; whether this should be done at once or after an experiment at Hastings has been in progress for flve years or longer; and whether there is a suitable area in which the water can be fluoridated, always provided a majority of resixients approve it— (P.A.)
