Negro Student To Be Reinstated

(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) BIRMINGHAM (Alabama), Feb. 29. A Federal Judge today ordered Miss Autherine Lucy, a negro, to be readmitted to the University of Alabama by March 5. Miss Lucy, the first negro admitted to the university, was barred from classes after a riot on February 6. The University trustees, in barring her. said they were acting for her safety and for that of other students. Judge Hobart Grooms, in ordering Miss Lucy to be reinstated, also dismissed a contempt of Court motion against 13 university trustees and officials on the ground that they had acted in good faith.
