ROAD SEALING IN LINWOOD

RESIDENTS’ REQUEST Strong representations to have sections of Woodham road, Worcester street and Oliviers road sealed before the winter will be made to the Christchurch City Council and Drainage Board* This was decided at the annual meeting of ~ the North Linwood-Dalling-ton Burgesses’ Association when it was stated that portions of these streets "were in a shocking state” since the sewerage contractors had moved on. In his annual report the president (Mr J. L. Moore) mentioned the various projects which had been attempted during the year, the most notable being the new Post Office which will soon be established at Dallington. There were several other matters requiring the association’s vigilance, such as the Mcßratneys road widening and improvements to the dangerous intersection of Buckleys road, Linwood avenue and Aidwins road, he said. The following officers were elected: patron, Mr J. Mathison, M.P.; president, Mr J. L. Moore; senior vice-presi-dent, Mr D. M. Cumming; junior vicepresident. Mr T. £. Eaton; honorary auditor, Mr L. R. Roskilley; trustees, Messrs J. L. Moore, F. Cairney, J. B. Gash; committee, Messrs F. Cairney, L. R. Roskilley, T. Neave, M. M. Roseingrave, R. Moore, J. C. Butterfield, Mesdames B. E. Hancock and W. Shajr; honorary secretary-treasurer, Mr J. B. Gash.
